A construction worker fell to his death Tuesday while at work on a site in the west end of the Las Vegas Valley, authorities confirmed.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, a call came in just after 8:45 a.m. about an incident at the construction site for The Shops at Summerlin, south of the 1000 block of Summerlin Centre Drive.

A police spokesperson said the worker was already dead when medical personnel arrived. Police did not disclose details on what led to the person's death except that the victim had fallen.

The investigation into the death was turned over to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
