LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

At 28 years old, he's already an ECHL journeyman, and he knows how to put the puck in the net.

The Las Vegas Wranglers on Friday announced they have come to terms with forward Geoff Irwin for the 2013-14 season.

Irwin made his debut with the Idaho Steelheads, putting up 13 goals and 12 assists during his second season. There, he was voted "Unsung Hero" by his teammates.

Irwin, 5'11" and 185 pounds, next appeared with the Ontario Reign in 2011-12, tallying 19 goals and 29 assists.

"Geoff is an energy guy who shows up every night. He's very hard to play against, and that's why we wanted to bring him to Las Vegas," said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Mike Madill. "He knows what he's good at, and he sticks to it. Geoff is another one of our new players who will be counted on to find the net and create momentum."

Prior to turning pro, the Victoria, British Columbia, native spent four years at Minnesota State University, Mankato. In 143 games, he beat the goaltender 32 times and collected 52 assists.

The Wranglers open their 11th season on Oct. 19 at 7:05 p.m. For tickets and information, visit www.lasvegaswranglers.com.
