A man suspected in several Phoenix-area hit-and-run crashes was caught in a portable toilet by a sniffing canine on Friday night.
DPS spokesman Carrick Cook said there were reports of a crash on Interstate 17 near Bell Road and then the driver left the freeway. Authorities believe he caused a second crash on the frontage road and crashed his car into a building.
He tried to flee but a canine officer found him hiding in a porta-potty. He was taken into custody and booked into jail.
His identity is not being released at this time.
