The father of a 23-year-old man charged in the slaying of his girlfriend, told police his son admitted to stabbing her, because voices told him she was a witch, according to a warrant declaration.

Clark County Courts released Friday the declaration that named Christopher Salguero, as the suspect in the death of 25-year-old Amber Peirson, on July 25.

According to the declaration, Peirson was found lying in a pool of blood by her roommate, just before 11 p.m. that night, in the 4000 block of Sunrise Avenue. Authorities said she died at the scene from multiple stab wounds.

The roommate told police, in the declaration, he believed Peirson's boyfriend, Salguero, was responsible for the slaying, and he directed officers to a nearby home where he was residing.

Police, in the declaration, found blood on the front door of the residence. They also spoke with Salguero's parents who also resided at the home.

When told of Peirson's death, Salguero's father, in the declaration, said he warned police that the 23-year-old was eventually going to do something like this.

Police searched Christopher Salguero's room, where they found a pair of bloody shoes and shorts. Officers, in the declaration, saw the pattern on the bottom of the shoes appeared to match the bloody shoe prints at the crime scene. Salguero, though, was not at the home when police questioned his parents following the slaying.

Police later learned, in the declaration, during a phone conversation with Salguero's father that the suspect called his parents about three days after the slaying. The elder Salguero reported to detectives, in the declaration, that his son admitted to killing his girlfriend.

Christopher, as Salguero's father, told police in the declaration, the slaying happened after voices told him Peirson was a witch. Salguero's father told police, he urged his son to turn himself into police, but Christopher refused.

A Metro log showed Salguero's booking into Clark County Detention Center as Aug. 1. There was no word on details of his capture.

Salguero was charged with first degree murder with a deadly weapon.
