LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A man was struck and killed Friday by a public transit bus north of downtown Las Vegas, police said.

The Clark County coroner's office released Saturday the name of 53-year-old Leo Preston Miller. A cause and manner of his death were pending.

The crash happened about 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Las Vegas Boulevard and Owens Avenue.

Police said an Regional Transportation Commission bus hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said some roads in the area were closed while they investigated the crash.

Angela Castro, a spokeswoman for RTC, said they are also investigating the crash.

Metro police said witness statements and surveillance video suggest the man intentionally stepped into the path of the bus.
