LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A man sought in the slaying of a 25-year-old Las Vegas woman was taken into custody, according to police records.

A Las Vegas Metro police booking log showed 23-year-old Christopher Rodrigo Salguero was arrested Thursday on a first-degree murder with a deadly weapon charge. He is being detained at Clark County Detention Center.

Police named Salguero as the suspect connected to the slaying of Amber Lorraine Peirson. The Clark County Coroner's office ruled Peirson's death as a result of multiple stab and incised wounds.

According to Metro, she was found inside a home in the 4000 block of Sunrise Avenue on July 25.

Metro noted Salguero may have remained in the neighborhood living with friends and traveling on foot while he was being sought.

Police did not immediately disclose details of his capture.

Meanwhile, friends and family of Peirson are planning to hold a candlelight vigil in her memory on Saturday. An organizer said the vigil will be held at 304 Ronald Lane in Las Vegas at 7 p.m.
