Police seeking driver who struck child, fled

Metro police are looking for the driver who struck a 5-year-old child in Laughlin on July 29 and fled the scene.

Police said the child was hit around 7 p.m. in the area of Needles Highway and Cal Edison Drive.

Investigators said it appears the driver stopped briefly after hitting the child and then fled. The vehicle is described as a brown or gold-colored SUV or pickup.

The child was taken to Western Arizona Medical Center in Bullhead City. He remains in critical condition.
