A pretrial hearing was underway Thursday, in a case of a Saudi Arabian air force officer accused of raping a teen boy at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino on New Year's Eve.
Mazen Alotaibi, 24, was charged with sexual assault, lewdness, coercion and kidnapping linked to an incident involving a 13-year-old at the Las Vegas Strip property. Alotiabi pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Alotaibi is in the United States for training exercises, and was temporarily stationed at San Antonio's Lackland Air Force Base, police said.
He was a guest at Circus Circus at the time of the incident. The teen in the incident was also staying at the hotel with family on vacation, police said.
Alotaibi has been held at Clark County Detention Center since January on more than $1 million bail.
