LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

You won't score on something you can't shoot or skate around. With that in mind, the Las Vegas Wranglers on Wednesday announced the addition of 6'7", 238-pound rookie defenseman Ben Woodley to their 2013-14 roster.

Woodley, 21, made his ECHL debut last season with the Toledo Walleye and the Greenville Road Warriors, picking up a goal, two assists and 30 penalty minutes in 19 regular-season games.

"Ben is a young player that adds a lot of strength and size to our team. Everyone I talked to about Ben says that he is hungry to learn and do everything he can to move to the next level," said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Mike Madill. "We're lucky he decided to play with us."

In addition to his time in the ECHL, Woodley spent two years with the Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League, where he posted 11 goals and 53 assists in 74 games.

The Wranglers return to the ice Oct. 19. For tickets and information, visit www.lasvegaswranglers.com.
