While it's not anywhere near record levels, Wednesday's $235 million Powerball jackpot is garnering attention and possibly traffic towards the Nevada state line.
Primm Valley Lotto Store just off Interstate 15 and Rosie's Den in White Hills, AZ, are the closest Powerball retailers available to Las Vegas.
Nevada remains a state without lottery games.
Primm, which is located at the California state border, sells Powerball tickets before the 7:59 p.m. PT drawing. Forty-two other states as well as District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands participate in the game.
California Lottery officials said the cash option for the drawing is estimated at $136 million.
By comparison, the largest U.S. lottery jackpot won was $656 million for a drawing held on March 30, 2012.
Each Powerball ticket costs $2. Five numbers from 1 to 59 are drawn with a red Powerball number from 1 to 35.
