HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

A Henderson man charged with murder, told authorities he had gotten into a fight with another man early Wednesday, before the person wound up dead.

Henderson police said 911 operators received a call from 25-year-old Charles E. Pierce at about 1:50 a.m. Pierce, police said, had walked to a police station and contacted dispatchers, regarding a fight with a man he did not know.

Police said Pierce reported the man was not moving. The 911 operator told Pierce to remain on the phone, while officers were being sent.

The man instead fled, and was later caught, according to police.

Officers eventually found the victim's body by bushes in the 100 block of W. Basic Road. Police said the man in his 30s or 40s did not display obvious wounds.

Police also noted, it was unclear whether the suspect knew the victim, before the incident.

The death marked the fourth homicide in Henderson, in 2013.

Detectives were still looking into what led to the confrontation. They urged anyone with information on the case to contact Henderson police at 702-267-4750 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
