Police renew call in search of Vegas slaying suspect

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police renewed its call for information in the search of a suspect in a slaying that took place near downtown Las Vegas over the summer.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Billy Ray Harris was identified as the person possibly involved in the shooting death of Marquis Hopkins on July 24.

Police said officers were called to 1720 W. Bonanza Rd., near Martin Luther King Boulevard, on reports of shots fired at about 10:35 p.m.

Officers located Hopkins suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene.

Police did not disclose a description of Harris.

Police urged anyone with information on the shooting or Harris' whereabouts to contact Metro's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
