DMV touts results of customer service survey

Posted: Updated:

It's the one place everyone dreads going. Long lines and occasionally rude staff have long made the DMV the target of vitriol.

Not anymore, says Nevada DMV.

Citing the results of a recent online survey, Nevada DMV says it is slowly turning the stereotype around with improved customer service and shorter wait times.

The survey, conducted in May, collected input from more than 3,000 Nevada customers.

Ninety-three percent of customers indicated their experience at the DMV was either much better than they expected, somewhat better or as expected.

"The public has noticed DMV's renewed commitment to customer service," DMV Director Troy Dillard said. "The survey results tell us that our customers are, by and large, having a positive experience. As a state government agency, that's the outcome you strive to have."

In another question, 78 percent of respondents complimented DMV employees, claiming their expectations were exceeded.

"We have made a concerted effort to improve our customer service and we are making progress," Dillard said.

The full results of the survey are available here.
