LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Grammy-nominated bands Vampire Weekend and Alabama Shakes head up a slate of 14 acts announced this week to be added to the Life is Beautiful festival lineup.

Alternative R&B singer Janelle Monae also highlighted the additions.

The acts were announced along with bands Cults, Joey Bada$$, Smith Westerns, Nico Vegas, The Dig, Dreamers, Wildcat! Wildcat!, Chancellor Warhol, the Kingston Springs, Children of the Night and Tink.

The two-day Life is Beautiful is scheduled for Oct. 26 and 27. General admission and VIP tickets were still available.

At least 50 bands were originally announced on the lineup, headlined by hometown act The Killers and other collectives including Kings of Leon, Imagine Dragons and Passion Pit.

Organizers of the fest said performances will be staged around 10 blocks of downtown Las Vegas in the Fremont East District.

In addition, chefs influential to Las Vegas are set to take part in the culinary aspect of the festival. The event plans to stage a Moroccan-style food market to offer festival-goers, as well as live cooking demonstrations and tastings.

Tickets for the food and music segments of the festival are available at lifeisbeautifulfestival.com.
