LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Authorities confirmed the remains found during a search at Lake Mead State Park earlier this year are those belonging to a missing taxi cab driver.

The Clark County Coroner's office said the cause and manner of death for Keith Goldberg, 55, are still pending.

Red Rock Search and Rescue located remains on Northshore Road at the recreation area in April. The group had to obtain an insurance policy in order to seek Goldberg's remains after he disappeared in early 2012.

The group said it took about six months to obtain the needed insurance before searching for Goldberg.

Goldberg's former girlfriend, Georgene "Cookie" Ross, and her then-estranged husband, Christopher Ross, were accused of murdering Goldberg in January 2012. Both were uncooperative with police, refusing to reveal the location of the body.

Red Rock Search and Rescue's operation spanned more than 100 square miles of desert.

The coroner's office did not set a timetable for the release of Goldberg's cause of death.
