Downtown Vegas comic book store set to open

A new comic book store set to open at the multi-story Neonopolis complex in downtown Las Vegas is encouraging fans of the medium to get decked out in their best costumes for a grand opening.

Supernova Comics is holding its grand opening event on Thursday and Friday, featuring signing with the creators of the X-Men series, Wolverine.

Fans will be able to get comic books and memorabilia signed by Len Wein, Herb Trimpe and Josef Rubenstein beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday. In addition, Trimpe and Rubenstein will be back for a second day of signings on Friday.

Supernova Comics is also giving raffle tickets to signing attendees on Thursday with the prize of a comic book signed by Marvel Comics mastermind Stan Lee.

The business at 450 E. Fremont St., Suite 167 touts itself as a first of its kind comic store in Las Vegas, specializing in high-end vintage comic books, original art and statues.
