A hiker required emergency help Tuesday after falling at Red Rock Canyon, according to authorities.
A spokesperson for Las Vegas Metro police confirmed a call of the fallen hiker at 10:09 a.m. Metro was told the call was for a fall in the Calico II overlook.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue crews had to hike about a quarter mile to treat the victim, who was taken out on a stretcher.
The victim was taken to UMC Trauma with no life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for the department said it appeared the hiker fell between 30 and 40 feet while doing recreational climbing. The victim was with other people on the hike, and the accident appears to have been an accident.
