LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman has taken on prosecutors, judges and police as a one-time attorney to the mob.

How, though, will he handle local celebrities taking shots at him for a special roast on Tuesday?

Goodman will be the center of attention in the Showbiz Roast happening at the Stratosphere Theater. A pre-show party and red carpet are slated for 9:30 p.m. with the roast scheduled for about 10:45 p.m.

The event is being hosted by "roastmaster" and entertainer Murray Sawchuck. Organizers announced the field of Las Vegas celebrities to include Steve Rossi, Mac King, Chef Carla Pellegrino, Clint Holmes, The Amazing Jonathan, Zowie Bowie, Chet Buchanan, The Phat Pack and Pia Zadora.

The event intends to donate 50 percent of proceeds to the Miracle League of Las Vegas, which offers local children with cognitive and/or physical challenges the opportunity to play baseball.

Goodman served as Las Vegas mayor for 12 years, leaving office in 2011. Since then, he has primarily served as an ambassador of the city's convention and visitors authority.

Tickets, which cost $30 for general admission and $40 for VIP, can be purchased at stratospherehotel.com or at 702-380-7777.
