With a month before Clark County School District starts the new year, health officials are reminding families to keep their children's shots up to date.
The Southern Nevada Health District announced extended hours for back-to-school immunizations for the last two weeks of August.
The health district scheduled extended hours at its main public health center at 330 S. Valley View Blvd. Its regular hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The facility, though, will remain open through 6 p.m. from Aug. 12 to Aug. 23.
The health district also made the follow locations around southern Nevada available for immunizations.

SNHD noted parents must bring immunization records at the time of the shots. The agency also noted the shots are mandatory for preschoolers, kindergartners and seventh-graders.
A fee of $16 per child for immunization or $25 per child for two or more immunizations is required.
