Two people on board a helicopter escaped injury during a training accident at McCarran Airport on Monday.
According to airport spokesperson Christine Crews, emergency crews responded to an on-ground alert at about 8:15 a.m. involving a Sundance Helicopters aircraft. A representative with Sundance Helicopters said the accident happened an hour before.
Crews told FOX5 one of the helicopter's rotors struck the ground, causing significant damage to the aircraft. The Sundance spokesperson, though, said the Eurocopter AS350B2 had tail rotor and skid damage only.
The two people on board were not injured following the training flight incident, the spokesperson said.
Clark County Fire Department was called to the scene.
Sundance Helicopters slated a return of normal operations by 1 p.m. Monday.
