LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police confirm Sahara Road has reopened after down power lines blocked traffic Saturday morning.

During the severe storm that brought fast winds and flooding to the Las Vegas Valley on Friday evening, power lines were broken on East Sahara, between Maryland Parkway and Burnham Avenue.

Power lines remain on the ground along the roadside as NV Energy officials work to fix them, police said.

2,000 Las Vegas residents, scattered throughout the Valley, are still without power, according to officials.
