LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A man who barricaded himself from authorities Friday morning surrendered peacefully, Las Vegas Metro police said.

Bill Cassell, spokesman for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, said the standoff began about 6:30 a.m. at a home on Drover Avenue, near the intersection of Owens Avenue and Pecos Road.

Cassell said an officer noticed a car being erratically driven, but when he tried to stop the vehicle the driver sped away. He said the same car was found about an hour later at 3300 Drover Ave.

Officers tried to contact a person inside the home, but the person refused to come outside, Cassell said.

It wasn't until just after 11:30 a.m. the suspect surrendered, police said. There was no immediate word on injuries.
