LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Detroit-centric casino The D Las Vegas will ring in its first year anniversary in downtown Las Vegas with the help of one of the Motor City's native sons.
The casino at Fremont Street announced Kid Rock will grace the Third Street Stage adjacent to The D on Sept. 28 at 9 p.m.
Kid Rock's scheduled performance marks the third night of three days of celebrations that will also include shows by another Michigan product Uncle Kracker on Sept. 26 and Stone Temple Pilots with Linkin Park's Chester Bennington on Sept. 27.
Each of those shows was also slated for 9 p.m.
The shows are free, but the casino is offering limited room and ticket VIP packages through www.thed.com.
The D Las Vegas made its mark opening in September 2012 after renovating and rebranding the old Fitzgeralds Casino and Hotel. The old Fitz, which boasted a "luck of the Irish" theme, was acquired by Desert Rock Enterprises, which is operated by brothers Derek and Gregory Stevens.
Since the purchase, 638 rooms and suites got a makeover at the 31-story hotel.
