PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A wanted convicted child sex offender who violated his probation was caught in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico and returned to Phoenix Wednesday afternoon.

Samuel Alexander Wroolie, 42, was found guilty of attempted molestation of a child and sentenced to a lifetime term of probation, a condition of his probation is that he is required to register as a sex offender. He was wanted for breaking his probation terms by the Maricopa County Adult Probation Department.

This is the second time that U.S. Marshals have caught Wroolie is Mazatlan for violating his probation terms. The first time Wroolie left the U.S. for Mexico to escape his probation was in 2002. U.S. Marshals were able to return Wroolie back to Phoenix in 2010 where he answered to his probation violations and had new charges added for not updating his sex offender registration.

The U.S. Marshals arrest more than 50 percent of all federal fugitives and serve more federal warrants than all other federal agencies combined. They are also the nations oldest federal law enforcement agency. For more information on the 15 most wanted fugitives visit www.usmarshals.gov.
