MOAPA, NV (FOX5) -

The case against 18-year-old Jean Ervin Soriano was dismissed after evidence that cleared him in a deadly crash was introduced into court.

Moapa Court officials said blood found in the passenger's side of the car belonged to Soriano, proving that he was a passenger in the Dodge Durango that rear-ended a Chevy AstroVan on Interstate 15 near Mesquite.

The Nevada Highway Patrol said the March 2013 collision caused the van, which was carrying seven people, to roll over off the freeway.

Three brothers, one of their wives and a girl were killed in the crash.

Moapa Court officials released a statement that said investigators are now searching for 23-year-old Alford Gomez. Soriano told them that Gomez convinced him to take the fall and admit he was the driver since Gomez has a wife and kids.

Soriano was originally charged with five counts of driving under the influence causing death, two counts of DUI causing bodily harm, driving without a license and failure to reduce speed in a crash on March 30.

Until Wednesday, Soriano was being held in the Clark County Detention Center in lieu of $3.5 million bail.

According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, the people who died were identified as Genaro Fernandez, 31, of Norwalk, CA; Raudel Fernandez-Avila, 49, and Belen Fernandez, 53, both of Lynwood, CA; and Angela Sandoval, 13, and Leonardo Fernandez-Avila, 45, both of Los Angeles.
