LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Clark County Coroner's office released the name of a driver who died after, police say, his vehicle rear ended a public transit bus.

Zackary Mitchell Greener, 21, was the person who died on Saturday. A cause of death was pending.

The accident happened just after 9 p.m. near Flamingo Road and Boulder Highway, according to Las Vegas Metro police.

Police said Greener's 2007 Dodge Caliber was traveling east on Flamingo at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended the Regional Transportation Commission bus.

The bus was stopped on the curb, loading and unloading passengers at the time, police said.

The driver of the Dodge Caliber was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the bus was uninjured, but seven passengers were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, Metro reported.

This is the 50th traffic related fatality in the Metro's jurisdiction this year. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
