Frank Nichols III was charged with murder in connection to the death of his father, Frank Nichols Jr. (Henderson Police)
HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -
The Clark County coroner's office confirmed the identity of a Henderson man whom, police said, was stabbed to death by his son.
However, medical examiners did not disclose the cause and manner of death for Frank Henry Nichols Jr.
According to Henderson police, Nichols' son, Frank Nichols III, admitted Tuesday to stabbing his father during an argument on Tuesday in the 900 block of Ambusher Street, near Stephanie Street and Patrick Lane.
Frank Nichols III, 21, originally called 911 of a reported intruder in his home and an assault that left his father dead, according to police.
Police said he claimed he was in the backyard when he heard yelling from inside the house.
Frank Nichols III later changed his story when evidence at the scene didn't support his story, police said.
Frank Nichols III was arrested and charged with murder. The incident marked the third murder in Henderson this year, according to HPD.
