The Fourth of July is almost always hot in Las Vegas. It's just not normally quite this hot.

The extreme heat is going to stick around for the holiday, which has event organizers taking extra precautions. Still, they say the shows will go on.

Green Valley Ranch in Henderson is just one of the spots you can catch an Independence Day fireworks display. Other locations will have food and games.

In North Las Vegas, crews are setting the stage for the city's 14th annual Jubilee Celebration. Last year, the event attracted more than 18,000 people. City leaders are hoping to exceed that this year, despite the oppressive heat.

"We will have MedicWest on site. Lotus Broadcasting, our radio partner, they are going to act as a cooling station," said James Allen with the city of North Las Vegas.

For safety and security, ice coolers and backpacks will not be allowed on site.

"We can't deny that it's hot out here. We did everything that we can to make it as comfortable as possible for the public," Allen said.

Summerlin will be hosting its annual Patriotic Parade. Organizers say there will be plenty of shade and water available.

Station Casinos is known for putting on fireworks spectaculars at several of its Valley properties.

"It's certainly hot outside, but that won't delay any of the plans we have in store for a fantastic firework show. Our key message is hydration," said Station Casinos spokesperson Lori Nelson.
