Metro hiring police recruits

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Following the 2013 legislative session, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is sufficiently funded to begin hiring again.

The department began accepting applications for police recruit on Monday and will continue to do so until it receives 2,500 applications or Monday, July 8.

While experience is not needed you must possess a high school diploma or GED. You must have a valid Nevada driver's license and be at least 21 years old.

Additionally, you must be a U.S. citizen and you cannot have a criminal conviction for which you were required to register with the state. You also may not have a misdemeanor conviction for a crime involving use of physical force or attempted physical force.
