Henderson man killed in weekend wreck ID’d

The Clark County coroner has identified a man killed in vehicle wreck early Sunday morning.

David Taulua, 43, lived in Henderson. His cause of death was listed as due to blunt force injuries, an accident.

Police said that about 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, a 1998 Chevy Cavalier was traveling eastbound on Sahara Avenue near Sloan Lane when the driver lost control, slid toward the curb and left the roadway.

The Cavalier then hit a parked Toyota Tacoma occupied by a security guard.

The driver of the Cavalier and the security guard were both taken to Sunrise Hospital for treatment.

Taulua and another passenger in the Cavalier were taken to UMC Trauma where Taulua was pronounced dead.

This was the 47th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction so far in 2013.
