LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Clark County School Board has voted to finalize Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky's three-year contract. Skorkowsky will earn $260,000 a year.

Skorkowsky issued the following statement on Thursday regarding the contract vote:

"I am honored to have a contract in place that allows me to continue serving the students and employees of the Clark County School District. This contract is a direct reflection of the values of the Clark County School District Board of Trustees and my personal emphasis on giving back to my community.

"I love the work I am doing for the children of the district and we will continue preparing the best school year possible for our students. As superintendent, I remain true to the phase I used as a teacher – it really is about every student in every classroom, without exceptions, without excuses."

The school board earlier this month voted unanimously to enter into contract negotiations with Skorkowsky after having previously done the same thing in May, prompting a complaint filed with the Attorney General's office alleging the move violated Nevada's Open Meeting Law.
