The largest Mexican low-cost airline will offer daily direct flights to Mexico City beginning Dec. 1, Phoenix city officials said Monday.
Volaris began offering direct flights from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to Guadalajara last week.
"Now we have another great way to welcome our friends from Mexico, and to visit them there as well," said Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton when the partnership was first announced over the summer.
With the addition of Phoenix to its network, Volaris will serve a total of 11 destinations in the U.S. They also serve airports in California, Colorado, Nevada, Illinois and Florida.
Sky Harbor currently serves 20 international cities with nonstop service, including several daily flights to Guadalajara and Mexico City on US Airways.
Fourteen airlines operate at Phoenix Sky Harbor, now including five foreign carriers: Aeromexico, Air Canada, British Airways, Volaris and WestJet.
