LAKE MEAD (FOX5) -

Crews at Lake Mead looking for a swimmer who went missing Sunday found a body after a search resumed Monday morning.

The National Park Service said the Clark County Coroner was being called out to the lake after the discovery.

Rangers said it received calls at about 2 p.m. Sunday of a 30-year-old Las Vegas man who disappeared underwater east of Callville Bay in the Virgin Basin.

The man was swimming in a small cove with friends and began to struggle before disappearing, according to authorities.

NPS said a search was suspended more than two hours after the missing swimmer was first reported with it resuming about 6 a.m. Monday.

Authorities believe alcohol was a contributing factor. The man also was reportedly not wearing a lifejacket.

There was no immediate word on the swimmer's identity.
