Vice President Joe Biden shifts his focus to America's mayors on Friday.
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Vice President Joe Biden shifted his focus on the country's municipal leaders Friday when he made the second of two planned speeches in Las Vegas.
Biden spoke in the opening day of the four-day United States Conference of Mayors at Mandalay Bay hotel-casino.
Some of the topics expected discussed in the event included issues involving public policy, economic health, infrastructure investment, energy efficiency and violence containment.
Biden preceded the mayors' conference appearance with a keynote address at the League of United Latin American Citizens National Conference at Caesars Palace on Thursday. Immigration reform was the key discussion point of his address to LULAC members.
"We've been in many fights before, and this is the fight of our lives," Biden said
The Conference of Mayors is attracting more than 200 city leaders to the event happening through June 24. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter is presiding over the conference with Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman serving as host.
