PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly befriending a 15-year-old girl online and forcing her into prostitution.
The Phoenix Police Department spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos said the victim called her family on Thursday and told them she was being held against her will. Police were called and detectives say the girl met Kiana Clark, 18, on a social networking site and Clark convinced the victim to meet her at a hotel near 8300 W. McDowell Rd. That's where, police say, the victim met Marquel Watson, 27, who took photos of the girl and placed them in online ads.
Police say during a two-day period, the girls were involved in prostitution and Watson took the money.
Once the police were called by the victim's family, the suspects were interviewed and made incriminating statements, according to Martos.
Watson was booked into jail on two counts of sex trafficking, and Clark was booked on one count of sex trafficking and one count of possession of dangerous drugs.
