SUNRISE MANOR, NV (FOX5) -
A fire truck was hit by a sport utility vehicle in northeast Las Vegas on Friday morning.
The crash happened at 4:53 a.m. at the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Sandy Lane.
According to a spokesman for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Engine 51 from the North Las Vegas Fire Department was parked on the eastbound side of Lake Mead Boulevard. He said the SUV was traveling eastbound when the driver didn't slow down and slammed into the back of the fire truck.
Four firefighters were aboard the engine, but were not injured, according to the spokesman.
The spokesman said the driver of the SUV was taken to UMC to be treated for minor injuries.
The fire engine was using its emergency equipment when it was hit, according to the spokesman.
