NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

Dozens of volunteers from Red Rock Search and Rescue on Thursday combed Wetlands Park for any signs of a Las Vegas woman who vanished eight months ago.

Family members reported 25-year-old Abby Roberts missing last October. She was last seen with her boyfriend, Phillip Johnson, who the family believes had something to do with her disappearance.

"Every day we wonder, is she out there suffering?" asked Renee Roberts, Abby Roberts' aunt.

Renee Roberts said questions surrounding the disappearance of her niece haunt her, especially when she looks at Abby Roberts' 10-month-old son, Jeremiah.

"We show him pictures all the time," Renee Roberts said. "We talk about her all the time."

Family members reported Abby Roberts missing Oct. 1, after she failed to show up to work. Her boyfriend was seen a few days before dropping off their baby at his mother's house in Torrance, CA. Neither has been heard from since.

While Metro has never named Johnson a suspect, the family is convinced he had something to do with Abby Roberts' disappearance. They say she wanted to leave Johnson.

"Why is he not showing up to the police, telling us where Abby is?" asked John Roberts, Abby Roberts' father.

With few clues and no evidence of foul play at the couple's home, the family is enlisting the help of the all-volunteer Red Rock Search and Rescue.

"We are checking all areas, washes and open fields," said David Cummings with Red Rock Search and Rescue.

Cummings said besides looking for Abby Roberts, they will be searching for a metal trash can that used to be in the couple's garage.

"There's a stain from it, and you know the trash can was placed there," said Cummings. "There's no ash on the roof, so you know something was burned in that trash can."

The family is hopeful the volunteers will provide answers.

"We didn't have a Christmas. We didn't have any Christmas lights and no Christmas tree," said John Roberts. "We had no presents because there's no use in being happy."

If you have any information on Abby Roberts' or Johnson's whereabouts, you're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
