LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A motorcycle officer was treated at a hospital and released after being involved in an accident in east Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Metro police said they received a call of the incident about 11:10 a.m. on Maryland Parkway and Sahara Avenue.

An official with Metro said the officer did not sustain major injuries but was sent to a local trauma center to be checked. The officer was later released.

Police said another vehicle was involved in the incident, but there were no details on what exactly happened.

Traffic on the eastbound side of Sahara was shut down following the incident, police said.
