Police: Pedestrian struck by car not in crosswalk

Posted: Updated:

Police believe a 21-year-old pedestrian was jaywalking when he was struck by a vehicle on Jones Boulevard Wednesday.

Las Vegas Metro police said the incident happened just before 9 p.m. on Jones south of Carmen Boulevard.

Investigators said Ronnie Ho of Modesto, CA was wearing all black clothing and a black hat when he was hit by a Nissan Altima in the southbound lanes of Jones.

Officers said it doesn't look like the 66-year-old female driver of the car was impaired or speeding at the time of the accident.

Emergency crews rushed Ho to the University Medical Center with critical injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
