A Las Vegas man charged with attempted murder said he was harassed by the victim before stabbing him, according to authorities.

Las Vegas Metro police released an arrest report for 22-year-old Tyler Henney in connection to the June 15 stabbing of Raul Zambrano.

According to the report, the stabbing occurred before 10 p.m. in the 200 block of W. Chicago Avenue, just off Industrial Road.

In the report, a woman who was with Zambrano told police he was intoxicated when they were walking through an alley from a convenience store. The woman was pushing a child in a stroller at the time, the report said.

The woman, in the report, said Zambrano encountered two white men in the alley and walked through their way. That was when, in the report, Zambrano started arguing and being aggressive with the pair.

The woman told police Zambrano took off his shirt and challenged one of them who had taken out a folding knife. That was when, in the report, the suspect stabbed Zambrano once in the chest. The pair fled from the alley.

The woman noted to officers the suspect was someone who had recently moved into the neighborhood. The suspect also tried selling her a cell phone, the woman told police in the report.

Police located the suspect, Henney, and detained him at his apartment just a few homes down from where the stabbing took place.

Henney, in the report, told police that the victim harassed him and started to pick a fight with him and his friend. Henney said he took out his knife when the victim was passing what looked like a firearm to his female friend. Police later determined the object was a can of beer.

Henney, in the report, said he stabbed Zambrano when the victim was coming towards him with his arms out to his sides.

Police learned Henney, in the report, attempted to change his appearance immediately after the stabbing, electing to cut his hair. Police arrived at his apartment before he was able to do so, the arrest report said.

According to police, Zambrano suffered a perforation to his heart as well as a cut to an artery. He was treated at University Medical Center in critical condition.

Henney was charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon. Police contend, in the report, there was no considerable provocation that led to the stabbing. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
