LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police investigating a call of a shooting in a west Las Vegas neighborhood said the incident did not occur as originally reported.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, officers were sent to the 5300 block of Lytton Avenue, near Charleston and Decatur boulevards, just before 6:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said a witness saw a man walking in the area with possible blood on the head. That person called Metro about the man possibly being shot.

When officers arrived, police found an empty vehicle that may have been stolen, according to Metro.

Police did not say if the wounded person was located.

Police continue to look into a connection between the wounded person and the vehicle.
