Fire officials said a person has been arrested after an overnight blaze damaged the entrance to a Las Vegas-area Baptist church.
Deputy Clark County Fire Chief Erik Newman told The Associated Press that investigators think the man taken into custody early Friday had a dispute with someone at Nellis Baptist Church before the fire was discovered about 3 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
Newman said county and North Las Vegas firefighters quickly doused flames outside double doors of the structure at 4300 Las Vegas Boulevard North.
But officials said flames and smoke caused about $40,000 damage.
The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Adrian Kincade, according to the Clark County Detention Center's website. He was charged with first-degree arson and first-degree burglary, according to the website.
Newman said county fire investigators and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents were still at the scene.
