A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detective is being investigated for soliciting a prostitute following a long investigation.
Peter Connell is facing five counts of solicitation, according to a criminal complaint obtained by FOX5.
Connell has been employed by Metro for more than 18 years and had been assigned to investigate crimes related to prostitution.
The complaint details several instances of surveillance which allegedly caught Connell with a known prostitute at a Las Vegas apartment complex.
The complaint states Connell paid that prostitute between $20 and $40 for sex acts.
Metro said an internal investigation is underway and that Connell is currently on paid administrative leave. The crimes Connell is alleged to have committed are misdemeanors.
