NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, NV (FOX5) -

Three Nellis airmen received some well-deserved recognition on Wednesday.

The three were awarded top honors during a ceremony at Nellis Air Force Base for their actions while deployed at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.

Senior Airman Michael Haynie came under fire during a rescue mission last year. His efforts helped save the lives of 10 wounded soldiers, earning him a Bronze Star.

"It does feel good to be recognized, but again, anyone put in my position, in my job, would do the exact same thing I did," he said.

Master Sgt. Kristopher Burridge was awarded the Bronze Star with valor and Staff Sgt. Thomas Lawrence was given the Distinguished Flying Cross with valor.
