NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

North Las Vegas police are enforcing driving laws in a special event on Memorial Day.

NLVPD said a "Click It or Ticket" event on Monday will focus on unsafe driving, including those who fail to obey red lights and posted speed limits and those who talk or text on phones while traveling.

Police said the enforcement will focus on major thoroughfares throughout the city from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition, seat belt and child restraint laws will be enforced as part of the department's effort to reduce the number of crashes that result in injuries and death.
