It's the unofficial kickoff to summer, and for those not headed out of town for Memorial Day weekend, there are plenty of fun events around town.
The biggest event in Las Vegas this weekend has to be UFC 160 at the MGM Grand. About 15,000 fans will be watching in person on Saturday with Cain Velasquez and Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva the headliners.
On Friday, about 5,000 fans showed up for the weigh-in, including two super fans from Minnesota.
"You read books, you hear stories. None of it does it justice. Vegas is ridiculous," said UFC fan Ed Keeling.
"There's nothing like Vegas. We've been to a UFC in Minnesota. We've been to other fights. Vegas is where it's at," said another fan, Jeremy Dedrick.
Things will be rocking in downtown Las Vegas. The Fremont East District is holding a punk rock music festival, and under the canopy of Fremont Experience about 10,000 people are expected to attend a concert on Saturday by Fuel and Lit.
"What makes Memorial weekend great is that it's the kickoff to summer, especially for the people traveling in from southern California and Arizona," said Tom Bruny with Fremont Street Experience.
Wet ‘n' Wild will open to Gold Pass holders beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday.
