GOODYEAR, AZ (CBS5) -

A lockdown at several Goodyear schools and childcare centers was lifted Thursday afternoon after a documented gang member, possibly armed, vanished during a police chase.

The all-clear was given at about 2:35 p.m. for children and staff at Palm Valley Elementary, St. Thomas Aquinas, Le Petite Academy and Tutor Time.

Goodyear police were assisting the Arizona State Gang Task Force in the search for the suspect wanted on felony warrants in the area of Dysart and Encanto.

The suspect jumped a wall on Dysart Road into Goodyear and as a precaution, law enforcement ordered the lockdown.

Officers and two police dog units from the Goodyear Police Department and a search helicopter from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office were mobilized to search for suspect.

The trail went cold, but officers remain in the area on lookout for the suspect.
