Authorities identified a 38-year-old pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer on U.S. 95.
The Clark County Coroner's Office said Penny Amber Franco died in the incident that took place on Tuesday. The cause and manner of her death were not disclosed.
According to Nevada Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer was traveling southbound on U.S. 95 in the right travel lane approaching Railroad Pass. A woman was walking in the right southbound lane in front of the big rig, NHP said.
The woman was then struck by the right front of the Freightliner truck, authorities said.
The woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. There were no other injuries as a result of the incident.
