Police: Man claims to have bomb, threatens bank

HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

Officers arrested a man who threatened a Henderson bank with claims of a bomb in his possession, according to police.

Henderson police reported the police situation at a Bank of America branch on S. Boulder Highway near Racetrack Road just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, the man was inside the bank making the threat but later surrendered to officers.

Henderson police said the suspect was taken to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

FOX5 viewers reported a lockdown of the shopping center where the bank is located, saying no one was allowed to enter the area at that time.

There was no word of any injuries as a result of the incident.
