A new Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers restaurant in Las Vegas means more jobs as the company opens the Valley's sixth location. The eatery at 1915 Rock Springs Dr., near Lake Mead and 95, marks the first new Raising Cane restaurant in Vegas in three years.
It's another sign that things are slowly recovering after a long recession in the Silver State. The company hired around 70 new employees recently, mainly to staff the new restaurant and partially to beef up staffing at some of their other locations.
Restaurant management said they recently had a two-day job fair that drew around 200 people so they ended up having to decline a job to the majority of the applicants.
MRG Marketing & Management, Inc. operates the franchise that's based in Baton Rouge, LA. MRG Chief Marketing Officer Justin Micatrotto said a lot of work has gone into the opening of this new location and they're excited it's finally open.
"Opening a new restaurant is an exciting time for everyone involved. We are able to create new jobs, give back to our community through various charitable efforts, and dish up some delicious chicken fingers while we're at it," Micatrotto said.
A ribbon cutting took place Monday morning along with a check presentation of $5,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The management company said it's important for their restaurants to be tied to the community.
The grand opening Monday also featured free T-shirts and food certificates for the first 100 customers. They started lining up about an hour before the opening.
